SEPTEMBER IS WILLS MONTH

It’s a great time to reflect on the legacy you want to leave and the impact you can make for those living with Epilepsy.

In celebration of Wills Month Epilepsy New Zealand have partnered with Gathered Here a trusted Australian free will writing service.  This service has launched in New Zealand this year.  In just ten minutes you can create your own free will.  The free will writing service is also available all year round.

Making or updating your will to include a gift of just 1% to Epilepsy New Zealand this month will bring hope for our community in the future.

If you require advice please talk to a solicitor.  After providing for loved ones it could be a great opportunity to leave a gift to a charity.  Epilepsy New Zealand is fortunate to have received bequests from dedicated supporters who value our mission and wish to be a part of our success story.

Wording your Will

It’s important to use the correct wording in your will if you wish to include Epilepsy New Zealand. Use our guide “Wording your Will” for assistance.

One decision today can change a person’s life tomorrow.

Including a bequest in your Will is one of the most special and powerful things you can do in your lifetime.

We recognise and encourage that you need to provide for your family and friends first.  And we are most grateful for any support that you can provide today and into the future.

By remembering Epilepsy New Zealand with a gift in your Will (also known as a bequest), your decision today will help support those living with epilepsy well into the future.

“When we were told Alice has epilepsy, it took a while to process that diagnosis.  It’s hard to explain to people that Alice will not grow out of epilepsy.

I didn’t realise how serious and how long term epilepsy is.  I thought epilepsy was from flashing lights that led to convulsing seizures.  I didn’t have that understanding just yet and I certainly didn’t know there were so many different types of epilepsy.

Epilepsy is not just a rough road, it can also be a lonely road.  Epilepsy New Zealand is the reason we are not alone. I rang the association and found caring people on the other end of the phone helping me to understand, giving me the information I needed and being there to listen to me”.

Trisha, mum of Alice

Your gift will help us continue to innovate, explore and implement the very best programmes and services; work with researchers and the medical community to find new and improved treatments and strive for a cure; and give those living with epilepsy access to the information, support and care they will need.

Your one decision, to include Epilepsy New Zealand in your Will, can change people’s lives forever.
